More on this topic » Heart Chakra Opening I would like to share with you a personal experience. I was teaching a mala meditation workshop. We had been meditating for about 1/2 hour and had already meditated using the index finger, middle finger and ring finger but in this last meditation with the pinky finger I started to smell incense burning and it became stronger and stronger. It was a lovely fragrance but got more intense and thicker as the meditation proceeded to the point it was becoming hard for me to breath. Afterwards I asked the class, did anyone smell incense and they all shook their heads "yes". I asked if any of them had lit incense and they shook their heads "No". I looked around the room and could not find any incense burning and I was puzzeled. Later as I drove home, I remembered "When the heart lotus opens, there is a fragrance". All of a sudden I understood, my heart chakra had opened and that is why the frangrance was so strong for me. My nose is 9 inches away from my heart chakra! I thought, we were meditating with the pinky finger and the HEART meridian flows through that finger. The heart meridian was stimulated by the beads of the mala and I was burning off karma by sharing the teachings of meditating with a mala. If you would like to open your heart chakra, meditate moving the beads of your mala over your little pinky and share this technolgy with others.
