There are so many benefits from meditating with a mala
that sometimes I over look the obvious:
Stess Relief.
In our 21st century lives, an excellent way of reducing
stress is meditating with a mala yogically.
This emcompasses 4 things: the healing
aspects of the gems the mala is made
with, the meridian points in the
fingers the mala stimulates, repeating an
affirmation or mantra which moves
the heavens and the earth and the numerology
of the beads.
A mala traditionally has 108 beads, which add up to
the number 9. Nine relates to mystery or
mastery, by repeating a mantra or affirmation
108 times you master the mystery of it.
It also helps focus the mind on positive thoughts through
the mantra or affirmation, which helps manifest
a positive destiny.
As the beads of the mala move over the different fingers,
different benefits are achieved. For stress
reduction the middle finger, next to
the index finger would be relaxing. If you
used a Lapis Mala, which also helps
with reducing stress, you would have
increased the benefits 10 fold.
Some clients have a mala made in their Personal Gemstones,
which empowers the mala even more.
Malas have been around for thousands of years, which
just goes to show us, humanity keeps rediscovering
the same universal truths. Meditating
with a mala yogically is one of the simpilist
and easiest meditations and also one of
the most powerful. (c) Rachel E. Hart,
